Withdrawal Policy

Journal of Innovations in Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences (JIPBS) recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw a manuscript from consideration. This policy sets out the process at each stage of submission, and does not charge any fee for withdrawal at any stage.

Before Peer Review

Authors may withdraw a manuscript freely at any point before peer review has begun, by submitting a written request to the editorial office at [email protected].

During Peer Review

Withdrawal requests submitted after peer review has commenced are discouraged, given the editorial and reviewer time already invested, but will be honored upon written request. Authors should provide a brief reason for the withdrawal.

After Acceptance, Before Publication

Manuscripts accepted for publication may only be withdrawn under exceptional circumstances — such as the discovery of a serious error, an ethical concern identified by the authors, or a duplicate submission identified by the authors. Withdrawal at this stage requires a formal written request and the consent of all listed authors, and is subject to editorial review.

No response from the authors to journal communication following review and provisional acceptance is treated as withdrawal of the manuscript, consistent with the journal's existing Misconduct and Sanctions policy.

After Publication

Once an article is published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot be withdrawn. Where serious errors or ethical violations are identified post-publication, the matter is handled under the journal's Corrections and Retractions policy and Misconduct and Sanctions policy, following COPE guidelines, rather than through withdrawal.

Ethical Considerations

Withdrawal requests made to submit the manuscript to another journal simultaneously, to avoid an unfavorable peer review outcome, or to otherwise manipulate the editorial process are considered unethical and inconsistent with the journal's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

Author Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript to JIPBS, authors agree to communicate promptly and transparently with the editorial office regarding any withdrawal request, and to provide a truthful reason for the request.
